// THE_COLOR_PROCESS

SEVEN HOURS.
SEVEN PHASES.
NO SHORTCUTS.

Vivid color is not a service. It is a chemistry project run on top of your skull. The process below is exactly what happens in the chair — and what we expect from you to make it last.

THE SEVEN PHASES.

Every phase has a job. Skipping one is how Pinterest fails happen. The other salons skip them. We don't.

PHASE_01
45 min · free

CONSULT

Free, in-person, mandatory. We pull your Pinterest board, look at your roots under three different lights, and assess your current hair history. We will ask you twelve questions about every box dye, lightener, and salon you have ever used. We will tell you what is possible in one session vs. three. We will tell you if you should not do this at all.

Custom color plan, prescription pre-care, a quote that does not change.
PHASE_02
2–4 weeks before

PRE_CARE

No swimming. No heat above 350°F. Daily K18 mask if we prescribed it. Olaplex No.3 once a week. We will know if you skipped it. Vivid color demands a healthy canvas — your prep week is where the result actually gets made.

Healthy hair that holds bleach and pigment.
PHASE_03
2–4 hours

LIFT

Bleach. Foils. Strand tests every fifteen minutes. We use Wella Blondor with 20-volume developer, never higher — slow lifts are healthier lifts. We will Olaplex No.1 your hair the entire time. Expect the chair to be in this phase the longest.

A clean Level-10 platinum canvas. Or Level-8 if your hair will not safely go higher (we will tell you).
PHASE_04
20–30 min

TONE

Neutralize. We pull any unwanted yellow, brass, or pink that came up during the lift. This step is small but it is what separates a real color job from a Pinterest fail. Twenty minutes. Sometimes a re-tone if the brass is determined.

A true blank slate, ready for pigment.
PHASE_05
60–90 min

PIGMENT

The fun part. Pulp Riot, Pravana Chromasilk, or Arctic Fox — our shelf has every pigment your screenshots can throw at us. We hand-paint the dimension you sent us, balanced for your face shape and the angles you most often see yourself in selfies. Yes, we paint for selfies. That is the job.

The color in your screenshots, on your head, in real life.
PHASE_06
20 min

STEAM

A pigment steamer pushes the molecules deeper into the cortex. This is the step most salons skip. It is the difference between a color that fades in three weeks and one that fades in nine.

A vivid that grips. Three months of saturated color instead of three weeks.
PHASE_07
60 min

CUT_AND_STYLE

Cut, blow-out, finish. We design the cut around the color — the dimension dictates the layers. You leave styled exactly how you will style yourself tomorrow morning, with the heat settings noted in your file.

A finished look, photographed for our IG with your permission.

FIVE THINGS WE'LL TELL YOU
BEFORE YOU BOOK.

We would rather lose your booking than ruin your hair. None of this is up for negotiation.

You cannot go from box-dyed black to platinum in one session.

You can, in three to four sessions, six weeks apart. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying or about to fry your hair.

A consultation is not optional.

We do not take vivid bookings without one. Half the work is in the planning. The other half is in the execution. We are not skipping the half that makes the rest possible.

Vivid colors fade. That is not damage — that is chemistry.

Pink and red fade fastest. Blue and green next. Purple holds longest. We will tell you how often to refresh and we will sell you the kit to do it at home.

We will not lighten over compromised hair.

If your strand test breaks, we stop. We will book you a six-week K18 plan and re-evaluate. We have refunded more deposits than we like to admit. We sleep fine.

A full vivid is a 6–10 hour session.

Pack a charger. Bring a book. We will feed you. The chair is part of the day. There is no shortcut.

SIX RULES THAT KEEP IT BRIGHT.

Follow these and your color holds three months. Skip them and you're back in the chair in four weeks. Your call.

NO_SHAMPOO_FOR_72_HOURS

Water reactivates the cuticle. Three days lets the pigment bond fully. Dry shampoo on day two if you must. Pulp Riot makes a tinted version that doubles as a top-up.

COLOR_SAFE_SHAMPOO_ONLY

Sulfate-free. We sell what we use — Pulp Riot Conditioner and Davines MINU for cooler tones. Drugstore color-safe is a lie. Your purple will go gray in two washes.

COLD_WATER_RINSE

Hot water opens the cuticle and lets pigment escape. Wash with lukewarm, rinse with the coldest water you can stand. Yes, even in February. Your color will pay you back.

NO_CHLORINE

Pool chlorine eats vivid color faster than time does. Pre-wet your hair before any swim, coat with a leave-in conditioner, and rinse immediately after. Hot tubs are not allowed, period.

HEAT_BELOW_350

Vivid pigments melt at high heat. Curling iron and flat iron capped at 350°F. We will check the dial on the irons you bring in for touch-ups. We are not kidding.

COLOR_REFRESH_EVERY_4_WEEKS

Bring in your color-depositing conditioner once a month, do not wash for 24 hours after, and you will hold tone twice as long. We mix custom refresh bottles for $35.

BOOK THE FREE CONSULT.

Forty-five minutes. No commitment. Bring your screenshots, your hair history, and an honest amount of caffeine. We will tell you the truth.
